Water & Sewer Line Installation
Underground water and sewer lines, placed by the same crews and methods.
Water and sewer runs are trench-and-bore work — the same excavation, boring, bedding, and restoration AMS self-performs every day. AMS installs water mains and service lines, and sanitary and storm sewer, placing pressure lines by bore or open cut and holding gravity runs to the grade the spec demands. Launched in 2026 as the newest addition to the self-performed scope, it's delivered the same way as the rest: one accountable crew, tie-ins and restoration included.
Serves
Water and sewer lines are trench-and-bore work — the same digging, boring, bedding, and restoration as the rest of the underground scope. Pressure lines (water mains and services) can be placed by bore or open cut; gravity sewer is grade-critical, so it's typically open-cut with bores reserved for cased crossings.
Water & Sewer on the Gulf Coast
Grade, bedding & compaction
Gravity sewer lives or dies on grade — the line has to fall exactly as designed. In the region's sandy soils, that means careful bedding, laser-checked grade, and compaction that keeps the pipe from settling after the trench is closed.
High water table & dewatering
Deeper sewer cuts near the coast go below the water line. AMS plans dewatering where the trench needs it, so pipe is bedded on stable ground rather than in a caving, waterlogged cut.
The governing utility's spec
Water and sewer systems on this coast are run by real authorities — MAWSS in Mobile, Riviera Utilities in south Baldwin, ECUA in the Pensacola metro, and municipal boards in between. Each has its own materials and inspection standards, and AMS builds tie-ins and mains to the governing spec.
Water & Sewer rarely travels alone
AMS combines this with the rest of the scope so one crew owns the whole route.
Water & Sewer — FAQ
Does AMS install water and sewer lines?
Yes — water mains, service lines, and sanitary and storm sewer, installed by the same crews and equipment that handle AMS's underground utility and fiber work. It's the newest addition to the self-performed scope.
Can water or sewer lines be bored under roads?
Pressure lines like water mains can be placed by directional bore under roads and drives. Gravity sewer is grade-critical, so it's typically open-cut, with bores reserved for cased crossings where the design calls for them.
Is water/sewer work done as part of a full job?
Like the rest of the scope — excavation or boring, bedding and grade, tie-ins to the governing utility system, backfill, and restoration, delivered as one accountable scope.
